Meet Lorena, The Artist Behind FotoFino Art
Hello,
I'm Lorena, a South Texas artist whose work is rooted in the landscapes, animals, and memories that have shaped me. Through painting, ceramics, and other handmade works, I explore the relationship between people, place, and the materials around us. My work is inspired by ranch life, the coast, nature, and the imperfect beauty found in everyday things.
What I Believe
I believe art should preserve the beauty of where we come from, embrace the imperfections of the natural world, and create meaningful connections between people, place, and everyday life.
How I Create
My work moves mainly between painting and ceramics, often drawing from the familiar imagery of South Texas. Including ranch landscapes, livestock, wildlife, open skies, and the coast. I enjoy working across different mediums and allowing each material to influence the final piece rather than forcing it into a particular form. In my ceramics, I work exclusively with natural clay sourced from South Texas, connecting the physical material of my pieces to the land and environments that inspire me. My work can range from expressive paintings and intimate drawings to functional ceramics and experimental pieces. My love for Creation and creating are at the heart of every piece I make.

SHARING THE PROCESS
I created How It’s Clayed to share the part of art that often gets left behind... the process. Through YouTube videos and Twitch livestreams, I invite you into my studio to see the experiments, imperfections, problem-solving, and small moments that make each piece come together. From painting and working with South Texas clay to trying new techniques and simply creating in real time, my goal is to make art feel more approachable, personal, and connected. I want you to see not only what I create, but how and why I create it.
What I Offer
Through FotoFino Art, I create and sell original paintings, handmade ceramics, and other one-of-a-kind artwork. I also offer commissioned artwork for those who want to create something personal. Whether you find my work online, at a vendor event, in a class, or through a custom commission, my goal is to create art that feels personal, meaningful, and connected to the places and stories that inspire me.
